After an asteroid hits our world, a hopeful woman named Georgia tries to cope with her loneliness and grief as the last person on Earth. All other humans perished in the incident or left to inhabit a new planet called Terra-12. Georgia fears the idea of being transported to unexplored terrain in hopes of a new life, which informs her decision to stay behind on Earth.
Georgia experiences pareidolia, the ability to see faces in inanimate objects, amplifying her need for connection. She deals with her loneliness by indulging in various activities like making herself copious amounts of food, putting on comedy shows for her furniture, and reading poetry to her bath towels. Eventually, Georgia meets another person - George, who shares her feelings of loneliness. As they form a connection, they learn another asteroid is moving towards them, and they must decide how they will surrender to their cosmic fate.
