BEHIND THE LENS - Screening & Talkback Series
Breakthroughs Film Festival presents Behind the Lens - a series of screenings and talkbacks with women & non-binary filmmakers that look at the intersections of art, identity, community and social justice through the medium of short films. Four Canada-based IBPOC filmmaking teams will guide us through the making of a selected short film - screened through BFF - and answer audience questions about their ethos as artists as well as the specifics of treatment/script-writing, casting, finding crew, pre-production, directing, producing, post-production, distribution and screenings with their selected short film. Filmmakers in this series are committed to crafting narratives that question systems of oppression, create an awareness of erased histories and seek to fundamentally change the way we see and move through the world.
